Bob Parcells is one of the most famous coaches to come out of Northern California. He is best known for his work with the New York Giants, where he coached Phil Simms, Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, and Mark Bavaro.
When he retired, his 897 victories were the highest by a college basketball coach in Division I history. Coach Ramos is another well-known coach from Northern California. He graduated from California State University in Sacramento with a degree in Communication Sciences and is the only coach in California history to be recognized as both the high school state coach of the year and the junior university state coach of the year. Perhaps one of the greatest contributions Coach Ramos has made to college basketball is training Billy Donovan, one of the best coaches in the game today.
During his time as head coach, Donovan had 15 league championships, 11 section championships, 4 undefeated seasons, and was undefeated in the league in the 90s.
